Salary: $180K - $200K OTE

Travel: Frequent client travel must live within reasonable reach of a major airport

The Role

We're hiring a Director of Innovation & AI to work directly with our Chief Innovation & AI Officer on complex, high-impact client projects.

This is not a slide-deck-and-buzzword role. You'll be in the trenches with clients: diagnosing business pain points, designing intelligent systems, and translating AI capabilities into real business value. You'll lead workshops, scope engagements, prototype solutions, and work alongside delivery teams to ensure the promises you make actually get delivered.

Its a demanding, high-autonomy position. The right person will thrive on ambiguity, think creatively, and execute ruthlessly.

What You'll Do

• Own scoping and definition of AI & automation engagements for mid-market clients.
• Translate messy, ambiguous business challenges into crisp technical solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with C-level leaders and guide them through their AI transformation journey.
• Write complex proposals and cost/effort estimates that balance ambition with reality.
• Build and demo AI demos and prototypes hands on, not theoretical.
• Facilitate innovation workshops that challenge conventional thinking and spark action.
• Partner with delivery teams to ensure execution matches the vision.
• Be the face of innovation for Netsurit presenting, influencing, and driving client confidence.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

If you dont meet these, stop reading.

• 3+ years as a professional software engineer (in the last 15 years). Side projects, scripts, and hobby work don't count. Youve shipped production-grade code.
• 12+ months of real client delivery experience using flagship LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) beyond personal productivity.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Platforms (Azure, Copilot, SharePoint, etc.).
• 10+ years in the IT industry with clear progression of responsibility.
• Proven ability to own client relationships at the executive level.
• Elite communication and facilitation skills you can hold a room of skeptical execs.
• Ability to juggle multiple client engagements while maintaining quality and momentum.
• Deep familiarity with SMB and mid-market clients (20250 employees).
• Track record of keeping clients happy under pressure.

Nice-to-Haves (That Might Put You Over the Top)

• Experience with AI automation tools beyond LLMs n8n, ElevenLabs, Lovable, Aider, etc.
• Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• 10+ years in solution development or systems integration.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, and/or Fabric.
• Strong API integration and automation background.
• Track record of business process re-engineering or workflow redesign.
• Industry experience in Accounting, Tax, or Private Equity (bonus points if youve actually sold into these spaces).
• Technical degree (CS, MIS, or equivalent) with an MBA or equivalent experience a plus. No degree? Show us your results.
